At the 5th meeting of the EAU Section of Urolithiasis (EULIS19) it is a first that a highly-informative course for nurses will be held (in Italian). The course is dedicated to the best methods of maintenance and sterilization of the endoscopic instruments, as well as, the positioning and dressing of the patients in the operating room was organised for the meeting.
The Learning Objectives of the programme organized for Nurses are to provide the participants with up-to-date, evidence-based information on the care pathway of patients with urological stones, from the Emergency department to the Operating theatre, the Urology unit and the postoperative care. Also, to provide information on issues related to nursing practice, e.g. management of nephrostomies and urethral stents, as well as nutritional education of patients.
Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to describe the fundamental criteria for managing the care pathway of patients with urinary lithiasis, with specific focus on nursing practice.
- Session 1: Urinary stones – an old problem with new solutions
- Session 2: Urinary stones – from the operating theatre to the ward
- Session 3: Urinary stones in the office
After the Stones course for Nurses there will be held a Poster session for Nurses where multiple research will be presented.
